Rules for having a totally awesome kid

I have compiled a list of rules that every person needs, if they want to be a fun, and great parent.

Always have good toys and things to entertain the child

a spoon. kids love them!

random, weird toys, the bigger, the uglier, the better

a flashlight, turned on of course! nothing says good eyesight like a flashlight shining right in the eyes. see she is having fun!

their first pet. fish work great. See I am not the nicest mom, because I only give our baby fake fish, but she has no idea. I heart fisher price

let your kids wrestle you, and smush your face, they will laugh endlessly

feed them well

pringles! its a potato in there somewhere right? hey-it says reduced fat! That is good

Oh, this! Ah! (NOT MY IDEA!!!)
strawberry flavored marshmallows

be an example. (thanks dad)

give them as many as they want
(did you just throw up? me too)
having good genes is a definite plus!

have some pretty cool parents

freaking awesome mom

+

handsome daddy
=

an unbelievably adorable kid!

update

Ireland is doing well today! Well.... ok, kinda. She has been having an off and on day today. More off than anything. But she is definitely not AS bad as last night.

worst/best

So, I am going to give myself the worst mother of the year or the best mother of the year award. but I can't quite decide. let me explain:

I am not going to go into details, but Ireland managed to get into something that has milk in it-she has a severe milk allergy- and tonight she ended up pretty dang sick and in a ton of pain. She doesn't scream like that, ever. unless she is hurting-from milk. Which has not really happened much since I stopped nursing because I can control better what I feed her. Well no. she got it, and was hurting.

Now... daniel says I DON'T get worst mother of the year award because I didn't intentionally feed her it, when I knew it had milk.  but come on, for me, I feel horrible!!

So here is why I get:

award. Because since she got into the food in my care, plus she is my kid, plus I love her, plus I hate to see her in pain, I felt the need to give her EXTRA loves and comfort her. So we always had a hard time comforting her back in the day when she got sick from milk, nothing ever worked. My plan: give her tylenol,  and bring in her stroller, and push her in it until she calmed down. it worked!! yay. so I may have somewhat fixed a terrible situation. After Daniel and I took turns (thanks babe!) pushing the stroller through the house, I rocked her until she fell asleep. HOORAY! So far so good, she did not get a lot of the food, which helped so much!! anyway, thats all.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!

oh wow, here is a way long post about the last 3 INSANE days!! really, now. As usual, I posted a ton of pics. But I really did not do as many as I normally would. weird, I know. especially since it is  3 days worth, but I was actually so busy that I didn't always have time to take pics. *gasp* it's ok, I will wait. ha ha. anyway the first pics are at the Days of 47 parade, that is a huge family tradition. which is so nice to have. It's the 24th day of July, this wonderful Utah holiday. Daniel got that day and Friday off -paid! sweet! Anyway. don't worry that ireland is wearing the EXACT same thing as her 4th of july pics, but hey my mom got her that outfit, and I wanted her to be patriotic.

We have been going to the parade my entire life. My family has even been going since before I was born. I know to some it is boring or silly. But I love tradition, and now Daniel and I can share it with Ireland! Honestly, there are only about 3 things that I love most about the parade. let me share them:

#1.

the motorcycle cops! now I am not sure why I still love it so much, but the show they put on is fun. But the state troopers are my favorite, and  almost all of them wear fake mustaches. the bigger, longer, the faker, the better

#2.
See for yourself. I get so choked up and proud as they march by, it is unbelievable. look how many!! I love standing, and just clapping to show support. Ha I am so emotional. It is so neat

#3. My absolute reason for going to the parade:
Our prophet. Thomas S. Monson. How could you not be excited? Also to be outdoors, with that many people around, and just have him ride in the car, wave, not say a word and be able to feel the spirit like that. wow

Then after the parade, we finished up with another family tradition, meet at arctic circle for lunch and ice cream

Saturday, July 26, 2008

So after the parade and arctic circle, we went home to supposedly nap. Ireland had different ideas. She didn't want to sleep, so, me being the funnest mom ever, put her in her bassinet from when she was super little which I filled with all her stuffed animals. I know it probably wasn't super safe, but it seemed super fun! ok, ok I swear I watched her closely.... through the camera lens of course! ha ha. no i promise I was careful. Anyway, She had a blast!

best smile ever!

She looks exactly like me -when I was little- in this picture

ha ha. She has been super sick, or it's all from teething and the sinus infection, but her poor nose was running, sorry for the grossness (is that a word?) but this pic was too cute! even if there was a messy face

Also later that night, we had all the girls over and we watched the movie Penelope, had way too much junk food, then went out and had a firework show. All which of course I can find no pics for. Oh, there is a cute one I need to find of ireland peeking at carly in the hall. never mind, inside thing i guess. Also my firework pics sucked. sorry
Friday!
Day two of the Romney family reunion. I swear I took pics of this day. hmmm. anyway. We went, then took time to go home, attempt to nap, then go back. There was awesome food, company, games and this killer water slide!! so sweet. Makes me wish I had gone on it. It takes 2 pics to show the whole slide. so here ya go:

It was so cool, cause the yard was huge! The parents would pick up the kids and "throw" them down it, they were going so fast. Oh my gosh I should have done it. ha ha. just kidding. but seriously
Saturday! What a great day!
We went shopping. Then went to Raging Waters. Which is a water park. Super fun! Now I had taken so many pictures, as did Daniel, I just picked a few. I have some of the girls and daniel, BUT seems how everyone was in their swim stuff, I figure I will let the ladies approve their pics before I put them up. lol

At my house wanting to go, but I needed some family pics first. yeah, yeah, i know, i have a problem.

What a doll! She is so photogenic!
She was such a flirt as usual. Clapping at the guys that walked by (I swear!!!) Guys were like stopping to look a her and say how cute she is. maybe I need kel and megan to take her out with them. she apparently is a man magnet ha ha. Not that was my concern I am married and ireland is.... well a little young for that right now. (ha! someone tell her that!!)

Can i just say, look at that body!! how cute is that?? more places to kiss. And as you can see, we feed her well!

poser
best face ever! ha ha. click on it, to make it big, and check out this chick's grin. gotta love it!

just chillen, I guess. ??

As soon as we were done at the water park, I was going to go help my dad and his wife get the outside of their home ready to be painted. (like stuff in the yard and what not.) every single time I came to check on my dad and Ireland, they were dancing, singing, playing
it is so cute to see them together. And yes she is STILL in her swim suit. We never went home after swimming because we were so close.
He is so entertaining! i love my dad!

yeah, um ok, so.....

I need to get caught up on my blog, but I am sleepy... and as we learned in my last post... I am kinda lazy. kinda-meaning really, really. Anyway, I have close to a billion pictures to put up and I am not even exaggerating. at all. I have some from the holiday yesterday and more. but I will do it tomorrow, anyway, these are just a few of my favorite pics taken today to hold us all over, as we impatiently sit around waiting anxiously for my next post. enjoy:

So, our kid is cute. And, if you couldn't tell we kinda like her :P so here is a darling one of her holding onto Aunt Ruthie's wheelchair.

My friend Angie says in this one it looks like Ireland is the boss. Which may actually be true. Just don't tell her that!!

We look proud right?

Still can't tell if we like her :)

The Brand New Me!

So here is a picture of me. I work out a lot and here are the results:

wow. i am SO JUST KIDDING! I just found that picture randomly. So, no, i don't look like that. at all. BUT i was thinking that I need to get healthy. And fast. Now it's not about just losing weight (ok, I am totally lying. It is) But I do want more energy for my daughter and future children. And I have bought a gym membership and went with my cousin, like 5 times, then gave up. BUT now that I want to try, of course I can't drive. HMMM so have daniel take me you say?... yeah, that's where me being lazy is a problem. So Ireland is totally sick today, and has a sinus infection (still) and had her two top teeth messing with her, so while she is drugged up and sleeping, I should totally be working out right? nah, i choose to watch her sleep and get the house caught up, and read, and whatever. I was doing SOOOOO well before Phoenix, then i got depressed and gave up, then had surgery, and got super non-energetic, and not having ANY strength. So I just need motivation, and enthusiasm and discipline and soda, oh sorry that last one was wrong I suppose. D'oh! anyway, here was my blog and I will be updating with my progress as I start to get back into shape. So I can be healthy when it's time for baby 2. Oh shoot, i better start..... now! :P  have a great holiday today! (for everyone in Utah) Awesome pics coming up.... later... I still have another way fun event happening in like 5 minutes. peace!

Yay! A much needed vacation

Our good friends Jon and Heather invited us to go camping and out to the lake to try out their new wave runner. oh my gosh, it was so fun. Here are the highs (and lows) We got to get out of the house, into the amazing outdoors, which we do love so much, have good company with great friends, spending the day on the lake, tubing, wave runners, sand, sun, plus camping, smores, care free relaxation. yay! here are some lows (there were not many) the mosquitos were insane. too many of those. Daniel got pretty dang burned. the worst was his feet. they are STILL so red it's sad. they are kinda blistered. he could not go to church cause he could not wear shoes. I hit my shins pretty hard and am sure the bone is bruised on my left leg. I got a tad burned. that is all I can think of . other wise it was awesome. I am grateful for the good, true friends we have. And for again getting to spend time with them this weekend. heather and Jon, truly are good people, and we are so happy to know them. Thanks guys. so much! here are some pics. probably not in order. oh well, who cares right? enjoy!
