a little bit of Q&A

I am so sick today. :( My in laws have the kids and I am just laying down and bored as I can't sleep right now. I remembered this survey type thing I did with each of my girls so I thought I would do one for this baby. Helps me too since I forget everything, this way I can look back and remember the small stuff.

not sure why the colors and font are all weird. hmm. anyway...

Childs Age?
8 days

Name?
Ashlyn Dawn Romney

Birthday?
May 15, 2011

Time of birth?
10:08 pm

How long did labor last?
well from the time my water broke to the time she was born was less than 2 hours.

Who was in the room when baby was born?
besides the medical staff, it was just Daniel

How long did you push?
hmm... I pushed 4 or 5 times. not sure how long that took.

Weight?
7 lbs 13 oz. so big compared to my other girls!

Length?
19.5 in.

ANY HAIR?
lots of brown hair

Who does baby look like?
not sure about me or Dan but she does look like an exact mix of her sisters

Be honest...how much weight did you gain while pregnant?
23 lbs (I randomly gained 7 lbs my last week or so which happens in all my pregnancies)

Have you lost it all?
all but 8 lbs. I thank breastfeeding. :)

Was baby early or late?
she was 13 days early

Who drove you home from the hospital?
My husband

How many baby showers did you have?
0

When did baby start sleeping through the night?
she is a week old, she doesn't yet.

Did you breastfeed?
I do, yes. First kid I was able to make milk for. I am very pleased

Who keeps your baby the most?
I do.

How did you pick the name?
my friend Angie had a blog called Ashlyn's attic and when I saw that I fell in love with the name Ashlyn. This was years ago. When it was time to pick names for this baby, I had a whole list of names I was in love with but in the end Ashlyn was my pick. Without telling Daniel that, I showed him the list telling him to see if one stood out. He also picked Ashlyn. :)

How did you know when it was time to go to hospital?
well I don't have regular contractions in labor. Didn't with any of my kids. My mom didn't, my aunt didn't and since I don't I went in a couple times just to get checked. The day I had her I actually went in because my eyes were blurry, I couldn't see and my heart was racing and I was way dizzy. So I actually just went in to check my blood pressure. Surprise it was time for a baby!! Good thing I went in huh? I wouldn't have known.

Did you go home or somewhere else when you left the hospital?
straight home.

Anyone spend the night with you first night home?
yep, daniel

Did you cry the first time you held your baby?
no, which is weird. I cried with my other 2.

Who cut the cord?
Daniel

Where was the baby born?
the hospital

Did you video tape the birth?
nope

epidural or natural?
natural. (I did NOT want natural. I am an epidural girl. sometimes you don't always get what you want...)

Are you happy with how things turned out?
no but in the end I got my baby and that is all that matters

Do you want to have another?
yes and no. We are saying we are done but in my heart I always felt I would have 4 or 5. We will see how we feel down the road

sweet new baby

I am about to fall asleep but wanted to hurry and get these pictures up. I take so many of my little girl that I need to post a few every day or so as to keep them somewhat organized and put them up for all to see.

Here is my sweet Ashlyn 3 days old:

Ashlyn's jaundice got much worse since yesterday (up 6 points!) So we had to get her a bili bed and a bili blanket and she has to be on it all day and all night and we go check her levels every day until it goes down.

My good friend Julie came to see her and Ash kept holding her hand. So sweet

Ireland is seriously so in love with her new sister. It makes my heart so happy. She is always concerned, always curious always right there to help. She just wants to be the best helper and friend and sister to her. It is so great!

mmmm I love this baby! I kiss her ALL DAY LONG.

yes her bow is huge. Yes it is her sister's bow and yes I love it on her :)

This was actually taken at the hospital coming home. Tiny huh??

good night!

She is so little and perfect and so alert and calm. My little Princess is finally here and we are just thrilled!!

They say it's your birthday...

My sister Mekell turned 24 yesterday the 9th. My family went to dinner then came back to my house for cake and ice cream

here are some photos from last night:

this one cracks me up! I was trying to get a picture of Leighton and Ireland went and literally jumped back in to the photo. Thought it looked pretty cool
Happy Birthday kelly!

Are we done yet?

Yes I realize the only things I blog about anymore are this pregnancy, me trying to move, and my husband that now lives 4.5 hours away. Well that's because that is all that is on my mind 24/7
I have cute pictures of things we do. I promise we really do things! It's just hard without my laptop, my pictures, my.... you know...

so anyway here is yet ANOTHER pregnant post. Run now if you wish. :)

37 weeks
baby... where are you??
Saw the Dr. wednesday. He is shocked she is still in there and said "any time now"
ha! we will see.
I finally gained half a pound! Which made my Dr. happy seems how I LOST a pound last time. Not sure why. SO now I am at a grand total of 16 pounds gained this pregnancy. Big whoop. This baby will be tiny like her sisters and I have tried everything in my power to feed her lots!!

Speaking of "her" every person I know SWEARS this baby is a BOY!! say what?!?! I had TWO ultrasounds and they both said she was a she. I DO have a friend who also had ultrasounds say girl and it was really a boy. gulp. so what if.... no. She is a she... isn't she? he? ahhh stop putting thoughts like that in my head!!!! Now if I may be 100% honest I am THRILLED about another girl. Every single thing about that makes me giddy and happy and excited. BUUUUUUT if this baby was a boy.... I would be equally excited. honest. I thought it was a boy the whole time... until the ultrasounds. Daniel is annoyed. Its his princess and no one's opinions change that. Of course I am the one who hears it daily from family and friends who can just "tell." freak. let's just have this baby and find out!! The ONLY reason I would be sad if it turned out to be a boy is all the cute clothes I have bought or received. But that's a pretty lame reason so if it's a boy then HOORAY! ha ha.
but really.... is anyone psychic?? If so.... what am I having?

night!

I'm back in business!!

So my business has suffered a serious blow when I had ZERO time to make bows and all the cute baby accessories as well. My website had to be shut down as I couldn't keep up and no time for orders. I still did random orders from previous clients and from time to time made my girls things when I could. Now that I am no longer babysitting kids I have SO much time to get things done! Think 11 extra hours a day to spend with my kids, clean and pack my house, run errands, and REST!! I have been watching kids since Ireland was 5 months old, she is now almost 4 so this is a big deal for me. I am still on rest for this pregnancy but I have an entire house to pack by myself by May 28th. So like now I am just taking a break and letting my back muscles chill.
I made my new baby girl some cute bows a couple of months ago and posted on facebook last night, well people are interested and I already have orders! It's crazy because I wasn't even going to start up again until I moved but now that I have required rest time I can make it happen!! I am so very excited!!

I will be posting on my business blog until I get my website updated and running again. For now I will just show my cute new creations on here so I can get back to work. :(
lol

sorry crummy photos taken on my phone

These are my newest creations. I LOVE them!! You can't even see it but under the roses there is tulle poking out the sides to the left and right.

I have a request for a light pink one just like this. I also will be making more for my baby in blue, brown, red and black. Oh and yellow!! I can't wait to make her more!

This was my project during conference. To make a bow to match her coming home from the hospital outfit. The flower is attached by velcro so I can use the headband with other bows and flowers. Smart right??

My next things to make for my new baby: a tutu and big bow for newborn photo shoot. Also a few binky chains, socks with flowers on the sides and some bracelets. pics to come!! I LOOOOVE having girls to make things for!!!

Finally got some pictures!

Hooray its picture time!!

This year for Easter we went to St. George so we could spend time with Daniel. Also my brother (who attends and does plays at Dixie State) had a show the night before Easter so we went to see that. We stayed at Daniel's Grandma's house which is pretty much there for when anyone goes on vacation in St. George. here are pics of our weekend (ps you can click or double click on any pic on my blog to see them better. some are small at times)

For the play, Daniel had already seen it and it's not kid appropriate so he stayed home with the kids to dye eggs while the women went. Of course we had to get pictures first

Here is me in the light pink, my sis in the middle and my mom on the right. oh and my cute girls who snuck in for the picture
:)

wait, these aren't Easter pictures. weird. They are just cute pictures of my adorable daughter that "accidently" jumped in here. hee hee

oh she isn't wearing her glasses as she should AND eating on the couch?? oh well she is happy :)

oh right, back to easter ;)

what you don't let your kids eat right on the floor?? odd
well there are napkins under the eggs! just so everyone is aware :)

the eggs they colored with daddy

The Easter Bunny only got my girls candy and plastic eggs to find this year. Good thing for Grammies huh?? they got spoiled. Here they are beginning to discover their loot

after finding Easter eggs, my brother Mike and sis Mekell and I were asked to pose for pictures

my cute little family.

finding eggies the bunny hid for them!

hope you had as great an Easter as we did!!

update

Last night I went into terrible back labor. I had it with Leighton as she was "sunny side up" It felt the same as that and it was regular but not getting closer or longer. I got less than 3 hours of sleep and I didn't feel the baby move from when I woke up. I did all that I have been told to do and she still wouldn't move so I had Daniel take me to the hospital today. They found her heartbeat- yay!! BUT she wouldn't really move. They kept me monitored and I was shocked when my Dr. walked in. In his church clothes, obviously called in to help with my situation. That worried me slightly and he suggested they pump me full of juice, cookies and crackers. That was what they suspected kept my baby from moving. I didn't agree as I rarely eat breakfast within the first few hours of waking anyway and she always moves fine. Anyway time went on and she got active. hmmm. maybe she WAS hungry?? I dunno. Still weird. They checked me and I have dilated a half a centimeter. and they sent me home.

SO now I am paranoid what was wrong with my kid, still having insane but not progressing contractions and since no baby this weekend, Daniel has to go home tonight. boooooo!!

I am a wreck because the minute I go in labor (whenever THAT is) he has to race back. It would be so simple if he could just stay here!!! Oh well. That's life and baby is still developing inside me as she should so that is fantastic :) :)

Since I have been on bed rest, I have had dinners brought in each night. The sweet ladies in my ward (and a friend who lives elsewhere) are so kind and willing to help. They just do it and keep asking to help pack or babysit my kids. I have so many people that just want to help me and want me to be stress free. Its a blessing and I truly will miss everyone here when we move!!

My girls are sick. Leighton (surprise surprise) is once again infected from the neck up. She was given antibiotics which we are sure won't help as they never do. She is MISERABLE. truly grateful Dan has been here to help. Ireland was on day 9 of her antibiotics from a bladder infection and she still got whatever Leighton has. She has green spots on her tonsils. :( why if she is on antibiotics for 9 days did this happen?? She has ALWAYS responded to the meds. Just Leighton hasn't.

anyway so we obviously missed church. I wished I could have gone. I need the uplift, the sacrament, the blessings and loving people around me. That's ok. I STILL have Daniel for a few more hours and I have plenty of help if/when I need it.

I am watched over for sure. AND I can't ever say enough what that means to me.....
