My child is a monster!

Ha Ha. Not really, but she was a cute monster for Halloween!

Now  some Halloween pics!

As most of you know (or not. I don't remember if I said it or not) I don't like Halloween. I can't remember ever liking it. MAYBE as a kid. Yeah I am pretty sure it used to be fun. Well I am trying to like it, now that I have kids I would like to have fun with it.

Here is my mom with Leighton the cutest lil monster ever!

Here I am. I didn't dress up. :)  oh, you can't see it but I have a tail too.

Here is my mom. She didn't want to dress up either :) hee hee

My sweet, girly girl, princess became the strong, incredible, tough:
BATGIRL!! how stinkin cute is she??? We saw this at sears and HAD to get it!! I was actually looking for a butterfly costume, but this was much better for her! ha ha.

*********************

Before Halloween Daniel, his mom, myself and the girls went to a dance. Costumes were welcomed so I dressed the girls in things we already had (hadn't been costume shopping yet!)

So..... Leighton was basically a skeleton fairy. ??? ha ha So cute!

Daddy was a... I am not even sure

Grandma and Ireland hitting the floor! Ireland has some serious moves (really good rhythm as someone that night put it) Daniel's mom, Daniel and I have all danced our whole lives, so she definitely got her moves from all of us!!

This was at home. what a doll!!

These are Ireland and myself being silly before the dance:

She was covered in gold sparkles. As was I (oh and I had false lashes, so I really couldn't see!)

Check out our AMAZING pumpkins!!

this was Daniel's:

Mekell's:

Megan's:

Didn't have a  shot of mine, but it's the pirate ship at the end. sweet huh?? We did Ireland's that night. Well Daniel did it and hers was a bat! (click on it, or any pic to see the detail!)
The end!

You've had a birthday shout HOORAY!

Ahhh, FINALLY getting to post Ireland's birthday party pictures! The party was meant to be simple and small (well I tried anyway) So we had it with just my parents, my siblings and Daniel's parents, his siblings and  all of our sibling's children.

It was nice outside so grandpa played ball with the kids.

here is the birthday girl:

She got some really great and thoughtful gifts, but what gets me is Ireland opened these cute Roxy shoes and gave them a kiss. ?? um.... LOL ooooook! Silly girl. She got a doll and stuff that I think would be kissable. but the shoes?! (oh have I mentioned her OBSESSION with shoes??)

And this is obviously just me holding her so she can blow out her candles.
HOORAY!

Thanks for being born Ireland!! :)

Barney

So I posted the video of Ireland spelling her name, now her new favorite thing to spell is Barney. She knows most of the alphabet in sign language so we sign the letters to her and she says the letters out loud. She is pretty proud of herself.

After this post is a video of her singing..... well sort of. ha ha. I put the videos up on my phone so that's why they are in 2 different posts. Enjoy our cute little monkey.... we sure do!!

lil cutie

she has been "singing" like this for quite a while. She lists off things she loves. In this one she names things like baby, mommy, binky, etc. and for some reason needs to say it into the baby booger thingy and at the end she always says thank you much! then says my turn, my turn which I guess means she wants me to have a turn? I dunno. She is so much fun and I cannot believe how big she is getting.

Anyhoo, what's new with us..... well I have about a hundred pics I need to post. ha ha. Oh, I am not kidding either. Let's see, we have Halloween, Ireland's party, our vacation from a few weeks ago, the rest of summer pics, what we have been up to this fall, and I am sure a bunch of random stuff. I am just crazy busy. Mom's with 2 kids or more, BLESS YOU cause I can barely keep myself going with 2 kids. :) Other things keeping us busy are: my business, right now I have a sinus infection, I am training to run a marathon in spring, I occasionally babysit on weekends, attempting play group to get Ireland some socializing (oh and for me too!), planning my lessons for my primary class, and whatever else pops up. sheesh :)  Daniel is working hard to support us at his job as well as his personal business. Ireland is learning new things every day. It seems at least 3 new words pop up each day, along with a massive attitude ha ha. Leighton is such a cutie! She had her 4 month and is now 15 lbs 8 oz. her dr said she is short and fat! yup. no new skills for me to report of her just yet. but soon.... wow  life is amazing, I surely can't complain..... too much :) Well I am simply exhausted and can't sit up much longer. Gotta rest then fold laundry. yippee. ha ha

Ireland's itty bitty surgery

The day finally came. We had to get miss Ireland's ears all better. She has suffered from too many ear infections in her short 2 years. ( I believe the actual total of infections was 14. sad right?) So her pediatrician said it was time for tubes and recommended we go see this amazing ENT specialist Who just happened to be the same Dr who removed my tonsils 7 years ago and is my grandma's Dr too. When Ireland's  ped recommended this man we knew he would be awesome

So,  Dr. Hunter said it was time too, and explained it would be so quick, so simple, so not stressful. Phew, what a relief!

**Wed. Oct. 7th We took Ireland in at 6:30 am (yeah she was up past 2 am!)

Here is daddy putting on her gown

They give babies and kids a wagon to take them back instead of a bed. She was so scared, confused, tired, in pain and SUPER grumpy!

that is until......

..... they gave her some magical medicine!! They gave her something wonderful that would make her forget everything and make her relaxed, sleepy and GOOFY!! I have 6 little videos on my phone of her saying random things, busting up laughing, eyes glazed over. So stinkin fun watching her! I love that she got to bring her dog and blankie!

I tried to take one last shot of her right before.

About 20 mins later they came and said she was done. yay! super short.  I think the operation was 10 or 15 minutes is all. They said general anesthesia makes kids super irritated, confused, whiny and moody. YEP! We heard a scream and some wimpering as they woke her up. She came out and they gave her juice, a popsicle and she was like howling - so funny! She was so confused. They said she was behaving better than most. what?! she was so mad!! anyway, she had a little pain and they gave her tylenol. and she had some randomly that day and the next morning, and she has been a whole new kid ever since! ha ha ha well...... as far as not crying from her ears hurting ALL THE TIME before this!

this was more for us including Ireland to look back and remember (well not her, remember the wonderful medicine?!) and hopefully see that it all was to help her.
Her ONLY restrictions with this is she can't scuba dive! ha ha yeah, like that was going to happen! She has to stay above 9 feet of water. ha ha ok we will try. We took her for her one week check up and all looks well. Now we go back in one year to check again

Hey! You're TWO!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IRELAND!!

What a fun and exciting day! Our sweet (most the time :)) little girl had her birthday yesterday, Oct. 3rd. Ireland woke up to a decorated house (which was/is  a HUGE tradition in our family growing up. Birthdays were/are big and you always-no matter your age- got crepe paper and balloons all over) and her friend Pedro was there also when she woke up. She ran out yelling "yay! it's a birt day!"

she got a big sticker package and she decorated, the couch, tv, door and as you can see, her shoes!

My sister Mekell got this cake for Ireland. It was so cute. Ireland is OBSESSED with barney. still. sigh

sick of pictures!

more presents later in the day from Grammie, Grampie, auntie and "auntie megan"

attempting to ride her horse while eating applesauce. dork! :)

Unfortunately the day wasn't ALL good :( Ireland has a double ear infection (yes AGAIN) so from about 2:30 until bed time she was miserable and crabby. So this is how she was after she got in jammies :

We go in on Wed. the 7th to have a quick operation to have tubes put in her ears. We strongly feel it's what needs to be done. poor baby! She is strong and will feel so much better after!

Here is Ireland today spelling her name:

I have lot's and lot's more pics of her birthday I might put up in a bit just for her to enjoy later.  She is incredible. I love this girl so much I can't find all the right words to express it.
I still go in every night and make sure she is ok (and breathing :)) I still think she is my baby even though she is 2. She doesn't act 2 sometimes, she seems older to me. I had two people yesterday tell me they thought she was turning 3 because of how well she talks. She is so smart and so loving but can be so naughty sometimes!

She gets so sincerely concerned about sister, she loves to sing, and dance, and watch movies, and go for walks, she does somersaults all day-ESPECIALLY after mommy just did her hair! She loves Aunt Kiki to put clear mascara on her lashes for "pretty eyes" Ireland LOVES to go potty and loves to wear underwear. She climbs on everything (ugh!) she loves Elephants, she can sign almost everything she can say-we have conversations in just sign language, she can count, knows her abc's, she knows almost every shape, and can draw seekees (circles) and "obals" (ovals)

The funniest thing she says lately, is she will ask for a sucker and the conversation goes like this:
Ireland: I potty I need sucker

mommy: no, you didn't go potty so you do not get a sucker.

I: Oh I need sucker.

m: no, you didn't go potty

I: oh ok, I need sucker

m: no!

I: oh ok I need sucker

then she just keeps changing the emphasis on different words to make it seem like it's a whole new sentence and maybe I will change my mind.

goof ball!

I could go on forever talking about things she likes and says, but I need to go watch conference!
anyway Ireland we sure do love you, although I am sure you are aware as mommy let's you know all. day. long!
